someone else’s photos

This page is actually devoted to my daughter Lia’s pictures, not a bicycle among them.  I think one of the most difficult aspects of art — both in writing and the visual arts — is the solitude implied.  Most of the pictures we take don’t make the cut; most of the writing dissolves under the ‘delete’ buttons.  That’s why it’s so much fun sometimes to look at someone’s work before this edit process is fully resolved.  It’s a joy.  We see the experiments, the whimsy, in just messing around.

A few days ago, my daughter Lia let me show her a ton of pictures from my own messing around and we chatted about different kinds of digital treatments I was playing with.  She told me about the various apps she was using to mimic lenses, old cameras, and to post process the images she took.  Imagine my surprise when she actually shared a few with me!
